This charismatic dressage stallion attracts attention where ever he goes. His canter is without a doubt truly uphill. The length of stride is long with expressive use of the foreleg in all three gaits.

Due to his homozygous black genetics, Amoureux cannot sire chestnut foals.

Bred by Marja & Simon Spaans at Stal Barghorn in the Netherlands, Amoureux was purchased as a weanling at the age of six months and imported to Scotland. He sired his first foals in 2008 with his first crop arriving in 2009.

From this first crop, all six of his progeny presented at the SSH gradings received 1st premiums one of which obtained the highest scores out of over forty foals presented.

His progeny have consistently acheived excellent results and positive remarks from the most experienced judges when presented at Stud Book inspections including the KWPN, Oldenburg, SSH and BEF futruity.

His daughter Halexia SSH was the highest scoring dressage filly at the UK KWPN Keurings Nationwide in 2012 inspected by Ine Van Deurzen.

Her full brother Solaris Flambeaux was awarded his first premium as a yearling by the German graders Jens Meyer and Edwin Schuster, members of the grading board Pferdezuchtverband Baden-Wurttemberg e.V (P.Z.V.B.W) at the SSH Gradings gaining an excellent score of 85% for his trot.

Many others have been awarded high 1st premiums at the British futurity and have won many a Championship and Supreme Championship title throughout the UK.

He was represented by no less than three offspring at the British Dressage Scottish Winter Regional Championships in 2016 with his daughter Amoureva owned and ridden by Ferne Fairful, qualifying for the British Dressage National Championship, where she was awarded Highest Placed British Bred.

Amoureux has enjoyed much success himself at the most prestigious of high profile dressage shows, premier leagues Regional and National Championships competing against the nations most experienced riders with a multitude of high scoring wins and placings.

He debuted his dressage career in 2010 aged five in the young horse qualifiers with scores of 80%, including the Badmington Young Dressage Horse Of The Future, the Sheerwater Potential International Dressage Horse and the Sheerwater British National Young Dressage Horse.

On September 3rd 2010 Amoureux was presented at the UK KWPN Keurings successfully passing his IBOP (ridden performance test) and was awarded STER status on the basis of his above average suitability as a dressage horse.

Aged six he commenced his affiliated dressage career with International Grand Prix Dressage Rider Michel Assouline. Together the duo gained a Double win at the Sheepgate Premiere League in the Hickstead Young Horse Qualifier and Medium SOQ75 and numerous wins at Medium level qualifying for the Summer regionals. He also gained his first National Championship placing in the Sheerwater British Young Horse 6YO Final at Hartpury Festival Of Dressage.

Amoureux has since achieved a multitide of wins and countless rosettes up to Advanced level dressage and we firmly believe he has with time, patience and training a lot more to come.

Amoureux has also enjoyed some success over a fence! With the jumping blood of G Ramiro Z the Holstein lineage of Flemmingh and the older German blood of Pik As, it comes as no surprise that he placed well at the SSH loose jumping championships with scores of 80% for technique, scope and canter. Amoureux does and can jump for fun!

And now a little about his parentage. His sire Saros Van T' Gestelhof, by the legendary Ramiro Z, out of the Elite mare and three times Belgian mare champion "Erle" ( Pik Konig X Wendekries) claimed over 50 victories up to Prix St Georges. Saros was champion young dressage horse three years in a row which earned him his place at Verden placing 4th in his age group.

Amoureux's dam is no other than the KWPN Ster Pref Prestatie mare, "Ruby" by The KWPN Approved Grand Prix dressage sire, Krack C ridden by Anky Van Grunsven

Ruby also produced Amoureux's older brother the Grand Prix dressage horse "Wonderful Jazz" (aka Willy Wonka") by Jazz competed by Stephan Wensink, the KWPN Elite mares "Bachoera SV", "Danica SV" and "Flavia SV" all of whom were awarded 81pts at their EPMT (mare performance test in station) and competed with success in the dressage arena, thus earning her Preferent and Prestatie predicates, testament to the successful breeding program of Stal Barghorn in the Netherlands. Younger maternal brothers also bred by Stal Barghorn include Guiness SV (Furstenball) Impressive SV (Desperados) and Kyllian K by Chagall D&R the latter being bred by Pensionstal de Debbehoeve.

Such is the success of Ruby's progeny in dressage and that of her progeny at the KWPN Keurings that Pensionstal de Debbehoeve used Ruby for Embryo transfer last year. Her surrogate produced a stunning colt foal by Sir Donnerhall this spring and Ruby herself is currently in foal to Jazz due in the very near future.

In addition Ruby's sons, of those that were presented, including Amoureux, Wonderful Jazz and Zirkoon were all awarded the STER Predicate with Amoureux successfully passing his IBOP performance test.

Amoureux has since passed the strict veterinary requirements of the KWPN in 2014 (x-rays and soundness of wind) thus enabling his progeny depending on the mares status eligible for main stud book status when they come of age.

Above all Amoureux consistently passes on his amicable, loveable and willing work ethic. He is a fabulous choice for the sharpest of mares, and produces beautiful well balanced offspring suitable for the amateur and professional.
