Molly Malone & Bertram Allen win Longines GP Lummen

The 18-year-old Irish boy Bertram Allen has won his first CSIO5* Grand Prix Sunday in Lummen. After two rounds and a jump of three pairs left all the rails in the cups, but nobody was able to beat ‘little Bertram’. He won aboard his fabulous grey mare Molly Malone V (Kannan), born at Keith Doyle’s. Allen and Molly Malone won the Silver medal last year at the European championship for junior riders in Vejer de la Frontera. Now he won from the world’s major riders, such as Jur Vrieling from The Netherlands, Jerome Guery and Gregory Wathelet for home country Belgium and Anne-Sophie Godart for France.

AES also won the Small Grand Prix on Saturday with Tinka’s Serenade (Tinka’s Boy), the seventeen-year-old mare of Billy Twomey. At 1.50m the chestnut mare was the best in a twelve horse jump-off. Karim El Zoghby, Robert Whitaker, Henrik von Eckermann and Peder Fredricson also placed in the top five. On Sunday the CSI2* Grand Prix was won by Belgian rider Bart Clarys, who beat Billy Twomey again, now aboard his Irish horse Ardcolum Duke, and Pieter Clemens of Ashford Farm aboard another AES horse, called Anthony (Tadmus), born at TJ Sports Horse Ltd.
